Important - Outdoor Range Rules

  1. Upper & Lower ranges are for RIFLE AND PISTOL use only.  Shotguns are only allowed in the Pistol Pit area.
  2. The gate is to remain locked at all times except for organized competition.  This is to discourage trespassers.  You are responsible for the security of the range.  DO NOT GIVE THE RANGE LOCK COMBINATION TO ANYONE.

  3. Outdoor range hours are from 8 AM to Dusk except for preapproved, scheduled competitions.
  4. There will be no loaded firearms on the range nor will the handling of firearms be allowed while people are down range.  (SLIDES BACK. CYLINDERS OPEN, GUNS ON THE TABLE, MAKE THEM SAFE!) Loaded firearms are allowed only on the firing line. - THINK SAFETY AT ALL TIMES!!

  5. There will be no open shooting during any scheduled competition.  There is no shooting allowed from our property in any direction other than from a firing line to downrange.  Do not fire a gun into the air.

  6. Members are responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the range.  Do not leave trash or targets on the range.  If you are not sure you should shoot at something then don’t until you ask.  Damage to targets and stands is expensive.  If caught YOU will be charged for the damage and will lose your club privileges and/or membership.

  7. Members are responsible for reporting any observed rule infractions by others.  Report names and license numbers to any of the club officers whose phone numbers are printed monthly in the newsletter.

  8. No ATV’s are allowed on the range except as authorized for specific use or event.
  9. When a workday is scheduled or a crew is maintaining the range, there is no shooting allowed. Please feel free to help them, as they are all volunteers.

  10. All persons using both ranges must wear protective ear and eyewear.
  11. Only members will be allowed on the range except for scheduled club events, which allow for competitors or guests. − NO EXCEPTIONS!  This range is private property.  All others will be considered TRESPASSERS and are subject to arrest.   Membership includes spouse and children only. Children are the responsibility of the adult member.

  12. Out of town guests are allowed only with a temporary membership.  This can be obtained from any club director or purchased at The Sportsman's Loft (852-4000).  All out of town guests must be accompanied by the hosting member

The Minot Rifle and Pistol Club's indoor range facilities are located west of Minot on US 2/52.

From Minot, proceed west on US 2/52. Go 1.3 miles west of Behm's Truck Stop/Country Kitchen Restaurant and turn left (CR-17). Follow the road (CR-17) under the trestle bridge and bear left at the intersection (62nd St. SW). The indoor range is on the right hand side at the top of the hill (about 1/2 mile).  It is a grey steel building with green trim.

If you're approaching from the west, the turn off is about 9 miles east of the junction of US 2 and 52. Turn right towards the trestle bridge and follow the instructions above.
